Dr. King Tribute with CHALK4PEACE, Thacher School 1-23-13
The Thacher School of Ojai, CA celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. January 23
with inspiring workshops, readings, discussions and performances about Dr. King's legacy.
On the stage of the amphitheater behind the Boswell Library, artists created the visual arts
component of the day. They drew their messages and visions for a better world with chalk.
They covered the stairways all the way to the top! A big thank you to Sabina, Suzie, and Aaron,
the students and the United Cultures of Thacher for organizing this unique day of tribute.
One fellow turned to me as he finished drawing the planet Earth to proclaim, "This is the best day ever!"
The rains came that night and washed all of the artwork away. The experience and the photos are what remain...
