CHALK4PEACE 2014: Thacher School- Dr. MLK Jr. Day
The Thacher School once again celebrated Dr. King's legacy in January 2014 with a collection of workshops, performances,
readings and chalk painting organized by the United Cultures of Thacher. For the third year students and faculty decorated
the amphitheater stage behind the Boswell Library. This years works included Spoken Word in chalk and imaginative calligraphy.
They drew all the way up the steps. A couple of artists mentioned that creating these pieces was a meditation that had the
affect making them more peaceful. Hence, they said, "doing this is a good idea for everyone. It would help calm the world down!"
Thank you to everyone at Thacher who made this day of tribute possible. Dr. King brings out the best in people...
